Resumo

Objetivo do estudo

Abstract

Study purpose

To analyze how a mini-charrette operated as an integration management tool in the initial phase of a gamification project for energy efficiency in public university buildings.

Relevance / originality

Energy-efficiency projects in public buildings involve strong interdependence among physical infrastructure, digital systems, and user behavior. This study explores an intensive collaborative methodology to integrate different technical teams during the initial phase of multidisciplinary projects.

Methodology / approach

A single-case, qualitative, descriptive-analytical study based on triangulation of mini-charrette guidance documents, materials produced by the teams, planning artifacts, and a partial technical report, examined through qualitative content analysis organized into four analytical categories.

Main results

The mini-charrette brought together three technical teams: UX/front-end, back-end/data, and energy/sensors; contributing to strategic alignment, clarification of dependencies, anticipation of requirements, and production of initial artifacts for the MVP.

Theoretical / methodological contributions

The study proposes understanding the mini-charrette as an integration management tool in the initial phase of multidisciplinary projects, linking the design-charrette tradition with the Project Management Institute’s integration management perspective.

Social / management contributions

It offers public-sector sustainable innovation project managers a methodological reference for structuring the initial phases of multidisciplinary projects, with potential to reduce ambiguities, anticipate integration risks, and strengthen coordination among teams.
