Study goals
The research aims to use test specimen residue as fine aggregate in the production of concrete, partially replacing the amount of sand.
Relevance / originality
Concrete makers do not have a specific destination for waste, and through research, presenting favorable results for the use of test specimen waste in concrete would reduce the environmental liability caused by disposal in landfills and would generate savings for companies.
Methodology / approach
The work was based on bibliographical research, in which examples of application of the use of test specimen residue were sought in the literature It is also in field research, as tests were carried out in the laboratory to analyze the properties
Main results
In the fresh state, the concrete became less workable and rigid. After hardening, it presented lower resistance, but with a negligible difference, which makes its application possible in several specific areas of civil engineering, and may also be used in structural projects.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
In the theoretical study, the main authors who approach the subject were presented. A table analyzing the amount of waste generated by concrete companies was also presented. The methodology was adapted articles, can be used as a model in other research.
Social / management contributions
The adoption of recycling test specimen waste would reduce space in landfills and in companies, would generate savings for concrete companies and create new jobs, which makes its practical application sustainable.
