Study goals
This research had as objective to verify if there is viability of maintenance of sustainable characteristics of garbage bags manufactured by a small industry from the perception of your customers.
Relevance / originality
Different business models increasingly need to include sustainability in their operational and strategic perspectives on products, processes and/or services, taking into account the expectations and needs of their consumers, and, as such, this research focuses on sustainability in a small business, choosing as its specific focus one of your products, which is the garbage bag, because the manufacturing process of this was identified as the only environmental practice in the company.
Methodology / approach
It is a bibliographical, exploratory research and a case study, in which questionnaires were applied to potential clients of the company under study.
Main results
It has been found that consumers of garbage bags value environmental aspects, however, most only show an interest in buying a garbage bag that is environmentally friendly if the price is below other common garbage bags, or still, much of it would not even buy this type of product, regardless of its price.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
It is indicated that the company maintains and implements sustainable characteristics, in the garbage bag and in its other products, that have low cost and bring return under the investment in the short term, without increase in the values of these products.
Social / management contributions
As a conclusion, in the case of the garbage bag, which is already made with 100% recycled material, it is suggested that the company maintains this characteristic.
