Study goals
To propose and analyze a model capable of characterizing and evaluating the perception of stakeholders of APAE in Sete Lagoas (APAE-SL), identifying the level of involvement of these groups with the institution.
Relevance / originality
This study reflects an opportunity to look at social sustainability through living with people with disabilities, through institutional stakeholders. This theme is relevant both to the literature and to the management of organizations (NGOs).
Methodology / approach
A qualitative descriptive research was carried out, with six professionals, via discourse and quantitative analysis, with a sample of 213 family members of APAE-SL, from a total of 687 assisted, with statistical treatments of structural equation modeling, in order to study the constructs and variables.
Main results
It is concluded that the evaluations of “employees and attendance” exceed the evaluations on the “infrastructure” of the institution. In addition, the opinion about the various aspects studied about the institution after knowing APAE is better than the impression one had before meeting it
Theoretical / methodological contributions
Theoretically, this report contributes by analyzing a set of constructs and variables that can be developed into a validated model, capable of demonstrating in depth the relationships between the stakeholders of APAEs and other institutions. Methodologically, the contribution consists in the applicability of robust statistics for scientific studies.
Social / management contributions
Understanding the evolution of NGOs and their stakeholders towards a much more complex, intelligent and sophisticated world justifies the performance of work that is effectively managerial contributory. Socially, this report aims to contribute bringing clarity and facilitating employability and the development of new activities.
