Study goals
Thus, the objective of this article is to present the general scientific scenario on the measurements of social impact in academia and in the area of administration and business, to point out the most cited authors, to identify in more detail the scientific scenario and the list of keywords that are used most frequently in this field. In addition, new data is generated on what is currently being researched and also on future directions of research in relation to social impact indicators.
Relevance / originality
As there are no bibliometric studies published in the Web of Science, Scopus and Scielo database, this research is relevant because it is one of the pioneers in the union of the theme "social impact assessment" with the bibliometric methodology.
Methodology / approach
Using the bibliometric method, the present research sought to analyze the scientific productions in the area of Administration and Business that sought to evaluate the social impact generated by the actions of organizations.
Main results
As a result, an increasing number of publications were presented, the main authors on the subject in relation to the number of articles and citations, the universities with the most studies, the areas of study with the most publications on the subject, among other aspects. In addition, on the articles in the area in focus, their contents were analyzed and ideas for future studies were indicated, mainly focusing on more practical examples than on theoretical discussions.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
Among the contributions of the study are the presentations of future studies for the development of the research field in social impact assessment. In addition, it still serves as a theoretical validation of the methodological model presented by Zupic and Čater (2015).

The social and management contribution is made by the organization of academic studies that seek to measure or present a methodology to measure social impacts through the actions of organizations. In this way, this article serves as a quick and systematic source of access to this data.
