Study goals
The last few decades have been marked by technological transformations and revolutions. With this, the internet has generated relevant changes in the way we currently live, especially with regard to the means of communication, interaction and obtaining information. In the current innovation scenario, startups and the design thinking process emerge as indispensable actors and essential sources of innovation. Therefore, this work aimed to analyze the design thinking process in the development of innovations in startups.
Relevance / originality
This work is justified by the relevance of jointly studying innovation and design thinking in startups, as they are inherently innovative companies. By studying examples of national successes, you can identify elements that can be replicable to other startups.
Methodology / approach
To this end, applied research of a descriptive nature with a qualitative approach was carried out, based on a multiple case study with two startups, using content analysis through secondary data as a data collection instrument. The data were organized and coded, with a floating reading of all information. Then, the material was explored, assigning analysis categories, according to the stages of the design thinking process: immersion, ideation, prototyping, validation and implementation.
Main results
The results obtained demonstrate that the ideal scenario for the application of design thinking stems from the exchange of knowledge and observation of the three pillars (People, Business and Technology). In this context, the researched startups have been standing out in the market, as they are companies that use tools focused on the innovation development process, in addition to obtaining an innovative culture.
