This article sought to verify the relationship between the performance of the selections in the 2018 Soccer World Cup and their valuations in the pre and post World Cup period.
Relevance / originality
Due to the socioeconomic relevance of this sport, the need arose to obtain greater knowledge about the behavior of the market value of the national teams during the biggest event in the sporting world of football.
Methodology / approach
This study is of a descriptive nature, quantitative method and data on the website of Pluri Consultoria specialized in the soccer segment. He used statistical analyzes of correlation and multiple linear regression.
Main results
It concludes a strong positive relationship between the performance of the teams and their valuations.

The literature has gaps on this theme, hence it is relevant and timely to do so involving the 2018 World Cup tournament.
