Study goals
This technical report aims to reflect on the performance of the Ciranda dos Sonhos project, whose purpose was to teach migrant women from Cuiabá-MT manual skills, to develop the technique of crochet, mandalas, dream filters, makeup and hairstyles.
Relevance / originality
This initiative is understood as a way of encouraging the qualification of these women and also as a means of helping them to enter the world of work, in addition to enabling a new source of family income.
Methodology / approach
The project was carried out by the Universidade Federal do Mato Grosso- UFMT team with the support of the Pastoral Center for Migrants, an institution that works with migrants and refugees in the capital of Mato Grosso, in partnership with the private sector and aimed at women migrants. The methodology used in the extension project consisted of offering handicraft workshops, with regular practical classes with short periods. Regarding the evaluation of the project, the Focus Group qualitative research method was used at the end of the workshops, it was used to seek answers on how people consider an experience, idea or event, since the application of technique concerns the reality of each person
Main results
The results of the project indicate that the workshops, in general, not only provide the opportunity to learn each specific technique, but resignify “our look at the opportunities that I can create in this new place” (Venezuelan migrant participating in the project).

Among the theoretical and methodological contributions of this project, the promotion of the teaching tripod stands out, in articulating teaching, research and extension,
Social / management contributions
while the social ones, it is observed that migrant women perceive themselves in their social vulnerability and in the difficulty of their job insertion , the Ciranda dos Sonhos project proved to be a possibility to mitigate this situation.
