Study goals
The objective is to implement a Production Planning, Control and Programming (PPC) model based on the concepts of Workload Control (WLC), in a small Ornamental Stone Secondary Processing industry that adopts the custom-made production system.
Relevance / originality
Small companies that adopt a custom-made production system need to adopt manufacturing strategies to remain competitive. These companies face difficulties in adopting adequate PPC mechanisms that enable the delivery of products within the established deadlines. Thus, a model was created that focuses on two essential manufacturing strategies: delivery reliability and short term.
Methodology / approach
By means of the action research methodology, efforts have been made to collect the information and make the necessary process changes for the implementation and execution of the tool.
Main results
The results obtained were the creation of the PPC sector with the use of tools that enabled the fulfillment of the delivery deadline and the determination of daily deadlines used as a sufficient sales strategy to increase sales, of the 2 months analyzed by 15% and 16% referring to the same month of the previous year.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
A PPC model was created based on other existing methodologies, which meets the specific needs of a small ornamental stone secondary processing industry. Contributing to its strengthening and competitiveness in the market.
Social / management contributions
The implementation of the PPC model is a strategic tool for the company's business, as it contributed to an increase in the speed and reliability of delivery, the integration of production and sales and efficiency in customer management, positively impacting the organization's revenue.
