Study goals
Create a tool to improve resource allocation and decrease task execution time.
Relevance / originality
The article used original data from a company, using an integrated algorithm with a simulation tool to achieve its objective
Methodology / approach
A simulation-optimization model of activities has been created
Main results
The model allowed to identify the total resources needed to optimize the system and the construction of two diagrams: (1) resources allocated per project and; (2) system-optimized sequencing. In some cases, resources came to work up to 18 hours, and now, are allocated for a maximum of 12 hours, and instead of allocating an average of 4 resources per project, decreased to 3 resources per project.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
It was possible to identify the appropriate simulation model for the company, associate with an AG to improve the allocation of resources in the project, making the company better control the allocation of resources, which stopped allocating resources at random, with a efficient allocation of resources, and even better, reducing the number of overtime hours spent on projects
Social / management contributions
With the application of the model it is possible to identify through the construction of a diagram the resources allocated by projects and the sequencing that optimizes the system, so that the decision-taker can have a complete reading of the entire system before even starting the allocation process, so you'll know which projects each resource should be allocated to, you can predict the duration time, which projects will finish first, and which resources tend to have a higher occupancy rate.
