The study contributes to understanding the scientific perspective on circular economy applied to small enterprises, an emerging yet underexplored topic, especially regarding quantitative data and the analysis of co-authorship and co-citation networks.
Methodology / approach
A bibliometric method was employed. This quantitative analysis enabled the mapping of trends, authors, and research networks in the evolving knowledge field linking circular economy and small businesses, based on publications indexed in leading international scientific databases.

This is a recent field of study, with significant growth since 2019, especially in Europe, Asia, and Brazil. Key topics include sustainability, innovation, and waste management. Scientific collaboration is scattered, revealing weak connections among authors, institutions, and countries.
