Study goals
To identify how to control the payment of overtime hours of administrative staff in a Brazilian private university using the People Analytics methodology and dashboards for consolidated data visualization across the institution's units.
Relevance / originality
The lack of integration between HR and unit-level management data impairs overtime control. The project offers a solution based on integrated data visualization to support decision-making on personnel costs.
Methodology / approach
A mixed-methods approach (qualitative and quantitative) was adopted, involving analysis of internal reports, interviews with managers, and development of a dashboard using Power BI. The research is applied, exploratory, and descriptive, following Marcondes et al. (2017).
Main results
The dashboard implementation reduced the number of steps in the overtime report process, optimized access to information for managers, and enabled the identification of patterns and opportunities for operational cost reduction.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The proposal reinforces the application of the People Analytics methodology as incremental and organizational innovation, integrating data to support people management decisions, linking operational and strategic information in university administration.
Social / management contributions
The solution improves transparency in work schedule management, promotes more balanced environments, and reduces operational expenses, contributing to resource reallocation and strengthening the university's value network.
