Study goals
This study aims to describe the management tools that contribute to the effectiveness of rural enterprises in dairy farming, identifying the main devices used, as well as mapping the contingency factors that affect this branch of agribusiness.

Silva (2017) highlights that management in rural enterprises is important, considering that they must carry out their activities in a profitable and high-quality manner, while also meeting market demands.
Methodology / approach
A case study was conducted using a qualitative, descriptive approach, employing the semi-structured interview technique at the Alpha property, located in the rural area of Barbacena, Minas Gerais (MG).
Main results
The identification of the main issues impacting dairy farming production, such as hygiene, management practices, animal health, and climate and the assessment of the use of management tools to address these challenges, enabling increased production and improved efficiency.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The use of the theories involved in this study highlighted the importance of assessing the effectiveness of productive process tools in the medium and long term, and across different contexts of dairy farming, in order to achieve higher quality and better results.
Social / management contributions
This study makes a significant social contribution by providing practical and applicable support for strengthening management in rural enterprises focused on dairy farming. This research can serve as a model for other rural producers facing the challenges of this sector.
