Study goals
This work is based on the assumption that the theory of complex thinking can contribute to thinking about sustainable innovation. As such, the goal is to investigate recent discussions linking complex thinking and sustainable innovation.
Relevance / originality
Considering a world driven by technological innovations that need to be sustainable, the study investigates the contributions from the perspective of complex thinking. The relationship between complex thinking and sustainable innovation is an issue that has yet to be unfolded.
Methodology / approach
A systematic scoping review was carried out, which resulted in articles relating complex thinking and sustainable innovations.
Main results
It was observed that all the studies considered that global challenges should be approached in a multi-referential way and found in complex thinking structuring principles for broadening the vision and reflection on sustainable development.
