To understand how certain leaders attract, sustain, and orient collective attention in organizational and social contexts, proposing magnetic communication as a communicational-relational construct.
This qualitative, exploratory, and interpretive study was guided by Grounded Theory and conducted from 2016 to 2025 through literature review, nonparticipant observations, and semistructured interviews with 68 leaders.
Magnetic communication emerged from the articulation of ten dimensions: Presence, Clarity, Narrative, Improvisation, Voice, Influence, Expression, Connection, Listenership, and Scene, organized around attraction, sustainment, and orientation.
The study proposes magnetic communication as an integrative construct and repositions charisma as a transversal perceptual effect, combining interviews, observations, and literature through constant comparison.
The findings help understand leaders’ communication as a developable relational competence connected to clarity, listening, authenticity, connection, expression, and orientation toward collective action.
