Study goals
This article aims to develop and apply a model to measure the impact of a Complementary Education Project on the integral development of the student.
Relevance / originality
The article fills the gap represented by the lack of a model through which to assess the pedagogical impact of a Complementary Education Project.
Methodology / approach
A Case Study was carried out concerning a private institution that operates at the national level and executes a Complementary Education Project. Data were collected through a survey with 320 questionnaires whose content was analyzed using non-parametric statistics.
Main results
The cognitive and motor dimensions were the most impacted by the Project. The most relevant indicators in each dimension were presented. Lower age groups are less impacted by the Project in all three dimensions. “Time in the project” impacts the motor dimension, being irrelevant in the socio-affective dimension. Family income did not have a statistically significant impact.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The study scrutinizes the theoretical framework pertinent to the theme and develops a methodological tool that allows examining the social and learning transformations to which the target audience of a Complementary Education Project is submitted.
Social / management contributions
The study allows a better understanding of the determinants of the integral development of the student, giving rise to the construction of the pedagogical method and the most adequate environment for their development.
