Study goals
Identify how Faculdade de Saúde Santa Casa BH (FSSCBH) aligns its strategies to promote practices that aim to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on co-creating value with internal and external stakeholders.
Relevance / originality
The study contributes to the understanding of the integration between strategic management, sustainability, and value co-creation in a non-profit higher education health institution, expanding the theoretical discussion and providing empirical evidence on adherence to the SDGs in practice.
Methodology / approach
This is a qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive study with a single case study design. Semi-structured interviews with 12 managers and an analysis of institutional documents were conducted.
Main results
The results point to the use of strategic instruments aligned with the SDGs, stakeholder engagement practices, recognition of value co-creation as an institutional process, as well as challenges in measuring impacts and systemic integration between sectors of the Higher Education Institution.
Theoretical / methodological contributions
The article reinforces the applicability of stakeholder theory and the logic of dominant service in university management, proposing an integrated model of sustainability and value co-creation as a competitive advantage in higher education institutions in the health sector.

It provides support for the management of HEIs seeking to align their activities with the 2030 Agenda, demonstrating how participatory governance, strategic planning, and active listening to stakeholders promote positive social impacts and institutional legitimacy.
